Here's Where Nearly $1 Million Will Be Spent In Astoria, LIC
Three projects in Long Island City, Woodside, and Astoria will get funding from the Fiscal Year 2024 city budget.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — After residents in Astoria, Long Island City, and other neighborhoods decided where they wanted capital funding to be spent this year, three projects made the cut.
Julie Won, Council Member for District 26, announced Friday that three projects in Long Island City, Woodside, and Astoria will get funding from the Fiscal Year 2024 city budget.
Seven schools in Queens are slated to receive $75,000 each to fund technology upgrades, including computers, laptops, smart boards, and other items. The schools are P.S. 112, P.S. 166, P.S. 199, P.S. Q291, P.S. 78, P.S. 343, and P.S. 361.

The district is also set to allocate $150,000 for bathroom renovations at P.S. 112Q.
P.S. 166Q is expected to receive $250,000 for upgraded lighting and energy efficiency.

Over 1,900 residents in the district ages 11 and older voted to fund these three projects during the Participatory Budgeting process in April.
