LIC Cocktail Bar Named As Best In The City
Dutch Kills, a beloved speakeasy-turned-sidewalk-bar in LIC, was awarded the title of this year's best bar in the city by Time Out New York.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A Long Island City speakeasy-turned-sidewalk-bar was awarded the title of this year's best bar in New York City.
Dutch Kills, a cocktail bar located at 27-24 Jackson Avenue, opened in the neighborhood in 2009, but according to Time Out New York it warrants praise in 2021 since it is "still exceptional 12 years later."
The site awarded Dutch Kills the "best bar" title as part of its "Best of the City Awards," which honor the citywide restaurants, museums, and clubs that "revitalized" New York in 2021.

Dutch Kills, for instance, brought its speakeasy-style operation outdoors, serving to-go drinks from a window and setting up sidewalk seating, where patrons could sip on frozen cocktails and eat the bar's well-reviewed sandwiches during summer months.
Time Out also recognized Dutch Kills' "bespoke drinks" and "throwback style," which intentionally mimics a late-1800's look, in honor of the time when Long Island City was officially incorporated. The bar's name, however, references the once-title of the enclave where it is located: Dutch Kills.
