LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A prominent Long Island City nonprofit was robbed last month by a man who hurled a cement rock through the group's front door, according to police.

The man smashed the glass front door of Urban Upbound, the Dutch Kills-based antipoverty group with a storefront location at 40th Avenue and 13th Street, on May 13 about 6:30 a.m., police said.

The thief then walked inside, took a Lenovo laptop computer, and left through the front door, according to police.
