Long Island City Businesses Rocked By Early-Morning Burglaries: Police
Four popular Long Island City businesses were surveying the damage after being ransacked by burglars early Tuesday, according to police.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A string of popular Long Island City businesses were burglarized early Tuesday, as four shops were left to survey up the damage while a fifth avoided being ransacked.
Police could not tell Patch what kinds of objects were stolen, but Long Island City Post reported that alcohol and thousands of dollars in cash were taken from the four businesses.
The spree began around 3:30 a.m., when two men broke down the door to The Inkan, a Peruvian restaurant. About 15 minutes later, they broke down the door to Möge Tee at 42-32 Crescent St., where they again broke down the door and stole property, police said.

That was followed by Communitea, a cafe at 11-18 46th Rd., which the suspects broke into around 4 a.m.
"All of us would appreciate seeing you in our shops to aid in our recovery," Communitea wrote in an Instagram post, sharing a photo of their shattered glass door.

Their next target was a cafe at 9-03 44th Rd., but the burglars were apparently unable to break down the door to that business, police said.
Finally, just before 5 a.m., two men broke into Olives Organic Market at 42-32 27th St.
Police were not certain as of Wednesday morning whether the five incidents were linked, but said that all five were perpetrated by a pair of men.
