Man Robs Sunnyside Bank After Passing 'Threatening Note,' Police Say

A man made off with a fat wad of cash after passing a note to a teller at a bank on Queens Boulevard on Saturday, according to police.

SUNNYSIDE, QUEENS — A man made off with cash after robbing a Sunnyside bank by passing a note to a teller on Saturday, according to police.

The unidentified man walked into the Capital One Bank on the corner of Queens Boulevard and 41st Street at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

He then walked up to the teller window and handed over a "threatening note" demanding money, according to police, who also released video showing the interaction. The teller complied and gave the man a fat wad of bills, amounting to about $1,220, according to police.

The man left the bank for an unknown location. No one was injured.

Police described the suspect as a man with a light complexion, about 45 to 55 years old, standing roughly 6 feet tall and weighing around 220 pounds. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, dark jeans, black sneakers and a black baseball cap.
