Man Shot In The Leg In Front Of Astoria Bar, Police Say

Two people got into a verbal fight outside of Astoria's Alpha Lounge on Sunday morning, which turned physical when one shot the other.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A verbal dispute in front of an Astoria bar turned physical on Sunday morning, prompting one person to shoot another in the leg, according to police.

Early in the morning on Dec. 12th, around 3:40 a.m., two people were standing in front of Alpha Lounge shortly before the bar closed.

The duo got into a verbal fight, which escalated, prompting one person to shoot the other two times in the leg, police said.

EMS rushed to the bar, located at 40-06 Astoria Boulevard South, and took the injured man, 29, to the hospital, where he remained in stable condition, records show.

Police did not say what happened to the person who shot the man in the leg, but included a photo of them taken from nearby surveillance cameras.

As of this week, however, no arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
