Punch Thrown Outside Queens Bar Kills Man, Police Say

John McGee died after being punched to the head, police said.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS – A man died after being punched outside a Queens bar early on Thanksgiving Day, police said. John McGee, 21, from Long Island City, was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

Police said he was struck to the head outside The Gas Light Bar, at 43-17 Queens Blvd., at 3:47 a.m. His attacker fled and had not been arrested as of Friday morning.

Police are treating the death as a homicide.
