Subway Worker Smacked With Purse At Court Square Station: Cops
An unruly straphanger chipped a train motorman's tooth with her handbag on Dec. 27, police said.

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY — An unruly straphanger chipped a subway worker's tooth with her handbag in a dustup in Long Island City last month, police said. The victim, a 48-year-old train motorman, tried to break up an argument between two riders on the southbound platform at the Court Square G station around 8:40 p.m. on Dec. 27, according to the NYPD.
Once the pair was separated, one of the travelers — who was accompanied by three small kids — slapped the motorman with her purse, breaking his tooth and cutting his lip, police said. The worker was treated for his injuries at Mount Sinai Hospital-Queens, the NYPD said.
Police say they are trying to identify the attacker, who's described as a 35-year-old woman standing 5-foot-6 with a thin build and medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a black waist-length jacket, gray tights, red sneakers and a dark gray hat, police said.
