Uber Donates Free Meals To Workers At 6 Queens Nonprofits
Uber is teaming up with state lawmakers to give free meals to workers at six Queens organizations serving people affected by the pandemic.
ASTORIA, QUEENS — Uber is teaming up with state legislators to provide free meals to workers at six Queens nonprofits and institutions serving New Yorkers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Muslim American Society and The Connected Chef, both in Astoria, and the Bread of Life Pantry in Long Island City are among 13 city organizations citywide where workers will get free meals through Uber Eats, according to a news release.
Elmcor Youth and Adult Activities Inc. in Corona, the Kiwanis Club of Jackson Heights and the Ozone Park Residents Block Association are also eligible for the meals.

Uber is donating 8,000 free meals in total to the 13 chosen organizations, the result of a partnership with New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, who represents part of The Bronx.
“These organizations and housing developments are invaluable assets to our communities and they need our help now more than ever,” Heastie said.

Workers will receive a $25 Uber Eats promo code that they can use to order a free meal.
