Woman Found Dead On Long Island City Subway Platform: Police
A woman in her fifties who may have been homeless was found dead on a bench in a Long Island City G train station, police said.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A middle-aged woman was found dead on a subway platform in Long Island City early Wednesday, police said.
A passenger encountered the woman around 8:10 a.m. at the 21st Street-Van Alst station on the G line. She was lying on a platform bench, unconscious and unresponsive, an NYPD spokesperson said.
The woman, who appeared to be in her fifties, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Police said she may have been homeless.

There were no signs of trauma, but the medical examiner will determine the woman's cause of death, police said. The incident was first reported by the Astoria Post.
