LIC Woman Found Safe After Going Missing From Luxury Tower, Police Say

A 67-year-old woman has been found safe after going missing from her home in an apartment tower near Court Square, according to police.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A senior citizen has been reported missing from her home in a luxury apartment tower near Court Square, according to police.

Joanne Stewart, 67, was last seen around 7:30 p.m. Monday inside her home at 43-25 Hunter St., a 51-story tower near 43rd Avenue, police said.

Police described her as Black and about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build, dark skin and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a red and white blouse, blue jeans, dark sneakers and a black wig, police said.

Police shared a photo of Stweart and asked asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
