Woman Robbed At Knifepoint In Her Sunnyside Apartment, NYPD Says

A man followed the woman into her apartment building, threatened her with a knife, and stole $2K worth of valuables from her, police said.

SUNNYSIDE, QUEENS — A young woman was robbed at knifepoint inside her Sunnyside apartment building Saturday, police said.

The man followed the 28-year-old woman into her apartment building near 43rd Avenue and 51st Street about 8:50 p.m., said police.

Once inside, the man took out a knife and told the woman to hand over her property, according to the NYPD.

He then grabbed her purse — which contained $2,000 worth of cash and jewelry — and ran away, police said, adding that the woman was not hurt during the robbery.

NYPD officials released a photo of the man, reportedly taken from a nearby location before the robbery.

As of Monday, however, no arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
