You Can Help Beautify Trees In Astoria This Saturday
The event, put on by The Astoria 5, is your last chance this spring to mulch neighborhood trees, which helps them stay healthy and grow.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Saturday is your last chance this spring to help beautify trees in Astoria.
The event, organized by The Astoria 5, marks the group's third tree beautification event this spring, aimed at supporting the health of trees in the neighborhood.
Those who are interested in participating should meet at 10:00 a.m. in front of 25-67 38th Street, near 38th Street and 28th Avenue, according to a post in a local group.

The event is a chance to re-mulch trees in the neighborhood, according to the post, which helps the trees grow better.
"Let's do our best to keep our plant friends healthy," reads the event poster.

The tree planting is scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., but a group organizer commented on the post that "we'll likely only go to 12pm — or until the mulch runs out." Mulch and gloves are provided at the event.
The organizer added that it is "too hot" to continue the tree plantings throughout the summer, but the group plans to pick back up in fall of this year.
