#91 - Improve Your Swing, Beachside

Golf has been enjoying a renaissance among younger adults and children, and the Town of Babylon hits each demographic with its summer golf lessons at Cedar Beach Golf Course. The course, a par-3, 18-holer, is a good course for beginners and learners, and the town recreation programs offer several lessons and clinics.

For kids, a children's beginner course of six lessons is designed for putters ages 8 to 12 years old. The classes, which last one and a half hours, will teach boys and girls how to hold the club, swing, and other basics. The program costs $75 and runs Tuesdays through Thursdays from July 5th to July 21st.

For adults, the town offers a chance to perfect your game while enjoying ocean views. The classes are held at 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, so bring a change of clothes to work and hit the beach. Don't worry if you don't have clubs and all the equipment: the programs provide clubs but organizers request that if you have your own, please bring them.
