Babylon CrossFit Will Host Workout Event For Breast Cancer
The village gym has raised almost $7,000 of a $10,000 goal for Barbells for Boobs, an exercise-focused nonprofit dedicated to breast cancer.

BABYLON, NY—This Saturday, some Babylon area residents will be working out for a cause. Babylon CrossFit is hosting an event to raise money for breast cancer.
Babylon CrossFit has operated for seven years on Main St. in Babylon Village. The gym has over 100 members.
The Saturday event will benefit Barbells for Boobs, which is a nonprofit that helps those affected by breast cancer by facilitating physical activity. Their mission statement focuses on the role exercise can play in prevention and treatment of breast cancer"

"We are providing support and education to incorporate physical activity as the foundation for breast cancer risk reduction, treatment, and survivorship. We strive to improve the quality of life and outcomes in individuals impacted by breast cancer. Engaging in consistent physical activity has been proven an effective intervention to reduce cancer risk; reduce the prevalence and severity of adverse effects during breast cancer treatment and reduce post-treatment relative risks of recurrence, breast cancer mortality and all causes."
The Babylon gym has raised almost $7,000 for the group so far, and have a goal to hit $10,000.
