Babylon HS Students Assist at Special Olympics

High schoolers buddy up and help out athletes at the Special Olympics.

Sixteen Babylon High School students, accompanied by family and consumer sciences teachers Lisa Brush and Jenna Cucci, volunteered their time at Commack High School during the Special Olympics Spring Games North on April 21.
The students were paired with athletes and provided companionship, guidance, and support to their team. The athletes participated in a variety of organized athletic events throughout the day.

This field trip experience was organized through the Babylon Leo Club, part of Lion’s Club International, which Ms. Brush and Ms. Cucci advise. The Babylon Lions Club provided transportation and gave the students the opportunity to be a part of this inspirational day.
The students that took part in the trip included Erica Baroncelli, Julie Gentilin, Monica Jenkins, Kerry Glenday, Shannon Going, Fernando Vazquez, Patrick Delaney, Joe Savastano, Heather Puleo, Annelise Slack, Sean Reis, Kenneth Rende, Alex Zamet, Drew Christensen, Adam Gumbardo, and Trevor McGetrick.
