Babylon Opens Free Year-Round Stingray Wrestling Program For Kids

The free year-round wrestling program for K–12 student-athletes focused on leadership and long-term development, officials said.

BABYLON, NY — The Town of Babylon hosted a ribbon-cutting to officially launch Town of Babylon Stingray Wrestling, a new year-round, no-cost athletics program for K–12 students at the Town of Babylon Training Center in Wyandanch Village.

The program offers daily practices, mentorship, clinics, camps, and workshops focused on building leadership, confidence, and long-term growth. Open to athletes of all genders, backgrounds, and abilities, Stingray Wrestling also includes modified rules for blind and deaf wrestlers and spotlights inspiring examples such as NCAA champion Anthony Robles — reinforcing the message that anybody can wrestle, officials said.

Town leaders described the effort as a community-driven model connecting athletics, academics, and opportunity. The program partners with families, schools, universities, and local organizations to support student-athletes from kindergarten through college.
