Babylon Student Slated To Perform In Prestigious Music Festival

A Babylon Memorial Grade School student musician was selected to participate in a prestigious music festival in Suffolk County in November.

BABYLON, NY — A Babylon student musician has been honored with participating in a prestigious music festival in Suffolk County.

Babylon Memorial Grade School student-musician Lena Chaberek will participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County Festival this fall. This honor recognizes Lena’s dedication and talent on the tenor saxophone.

Lena has earned the top position for her instrument in SCMEA’s Middle School Jazz Ensemble. Her selection was based on her previous NYSSMA scores and her music teacher's recommendation.

The group will perform at the SCMEA All-County Jazz Festival at Miller Place High School in November, marking Lena as one of the top student jazz musicians in her age group.
