Babylon Students Tour Citi Field To Learn How The Mets Run A Sports Franchise
Students toured Citi Field and heard career advice from Babylon alum Joe Rende.
BABYLON, NY — Sixty Babylon Junior-Senior High School business students stepped out of the classroom and into the big leagues in October during an educational visit to Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.
The group toured the stadium’s inner workings — including the dugout, field level, and luxury boxes — to see firsthand the many moving parts involved in operating a major sports and entertainment venue, school officials said.
Students also sat in on a panel discussion with Citi Field staff who shared insight into the wide range of careers that support the Mets’ business operations, from marketing and sales to event management and guest services.
