Beloved Village of Babylon Mayor Honored At Argyle Lake
The late Ralph Scordino, who was mayor for 16 years, was honored on Sunday.

BABYLON, NY — A beloved Babylon town official was honored at Argyle Lake on Sunday.
The newly named Ralph A. Scordino Memorial Falls at Argyle Lake, named after the late Babylon Village Mayor Ralph Scordino, was celebrated by community members, local officials, and family and friends, Greater Long Island said.
One of Scordino’s final projects as mayor before his tragic death in October 2020 was the restoration project of the falls, Greater Long Island said. He died from a hunting accident in upstate New York.

Scordino served as mayor for 16 years after serving as deputy mayor and trustee for more than 15 years.
According to his profile on the Better Babylon Party website, he and his wife Linda were married for over 44 years at the time of his death, and raised two children in Babylon. He and Linda also had two granddaughters.
