Bikers Rally On Long Island To Support Breast Health Awareness

The Maurer Foundation, a Long Island-based nonprofit supporting breast health education, will host its annual motorcycle ride this weekend.

BABYLON, NY — Hundreds of bikers revved their engines for breast health last weekend in a Long Island motorcycle ride that raised thousands of dollars.

Hundreds of bikers gathered on Sunday for the 60-mile ride from Babylon's Overlook Beach to the Riverhead Ciderhouse to support The Maurer Foundation, a Melville-based non-profit whose mission is to save lives through breast health education and breast cancer prevention and early detection.

The ride raised over $22,000, all of which will directly support The Maurer Foundation’s mission to promote breast cancer risk reduction, healthy lifestyle choices, and early detection through its education programs, foundation spokesperson Lauren Fisch-Henry told Patch.

The ride was led by the Chosen Souls Motorcycle Club, a nationwide organization known for its charity events and involvement in local communities.

"Since 2018, this charity ride has been more than just an annual event for us," said club president Brian Krohberger. "It’s become a tradition and a way to support a cause we believe in."
