Bikers Ride For Breast Health On Long Island

The Maurer Foundation, a Long Island-based nonprofit supporting breast health education, will host its annual motorcycle ride this weekend.

BABYLON, NY — Bikers and breast health isn't a combination you hear every day.

But they're joining forces this weekend in support of the Maurer Foundation, a Melville-based non-profit whose mission is to save lives through breast health education that focuses on breast cancer prevention, early detection, risk reduction and healthy lifestyle choices.

The foundation's 11th Annual Motorcycle Ride is slated for Sunday, June 1, and will kick off at Overlook Beach in Babylon, where police-escorted bikers will ride around 60 miles to the Riverhead Ciderhouse.

According to foundation spokesperson Lauren Fisch-Henry, registration for the "vibrant and festive" day begins at 9 a.m., with "kickstands up" slated for 10:30 a.m.
