TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — The Town of Babylon's Animal Shelter have gone to the bunnies.

A dozen bunnies — Chocolate Chip, Nathalie, Ivory, Dixie Cup, Gus, Princess, Mary, Susan, (females) and Jeremy, Tom, and Nicholas (males) are the shelter's adoptable pets of the week.

These cotton-tailed creatures recently had a photo shoot to show off the spring bandanas made through Theresa's Programs, a professional programmer for libraries and parties.

These bandanas were all designed by the teens at Sachem Library & Island Trees Public Library & North Bellmore Public Library, the shelter said.

The shelter said it is overwhelmed with the number of bunnies to be cared for in a shelter environment.

"Bunnies are not just a caged pet; please research all that is involved in owning a bunny," volunteers said.

There is a four-page adoption application to be filled out, for each bunny. The adoption fee is $35 cash.

The shelter staff will be more than happy to discuss bunny care, and you can also email the shelter for the literature that is provided with bunny adoptions. To learn more about bunny care, email: baarc@townofbabylon.com
