Michael Durso Wins Assembly District 9 Race
The results are in for the race between Michael Durso (R) and Steven Dellavecchia (D).

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Long Islanders have spoken: Incumbent New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso (R) has emerged as winner for Assembly District 9, as of Wednesday, Newsday said.
Durso, a who has served in the 9th Assembly District since 2021, gained 36,559 votes, or 66.95 percent on Tuesday, while Democratic candidate Steven Dellavecchia obtained 15,939 votes, or 29.19 percent.
The announcement comes after 69 of 72 districts reported voting.

Dellavecchia did not run an active campaign.
Official election results in Suffolk County were delayed on Tuesday, after board of elections workers had difficulty loading memory cards needed to tally the vote.

The district encompasses South Farmingdale, Massapequa, Massapequa Park, West Babylon, Babylon, West Islip, Brightwaters, and portions of Fire Island and the Great South Bay area.
