Funeral Set For 'Organ Donor Hero' Bella Trezza After Tragic Car Crash
Funeral services are set for Bella Trezza, 17, who died from injuries she suffered in a Babylon car wreck that claimed the lives of 2 teens.

BABYLON, NY — Friends and family mourning Bella Trezza—the teen who passed away from injuries she suffered in a tragic car accident that rocked the community and took three lives—will gather to celebrate her life this week.
According to her obituary, Bella is the loving daughter of Kelly and Jay Trezza; the sister of James Smith, Alexa-Rae and Austin Trezza; and the granddaughter of Patricia and William Custance. Bella also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitors will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home in Babylon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church in West Babylon. Bella will be laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
Trezza was just 17 years old when she picked up her brother, Austin, and three friends from a party and lives were changed forever on September 21.

At around 1 a.m., a man driving a Kia sedan ran a red light on Railroad Avenue in West Babylon and hit the Kia Seltos driven by Bella, police said. The sedan's driver, Michael Desmond, 33, of Lindenhurst was pronounced dead on the scene while Riley Goot, 18, of Babylon, a passenger of Bella's, was pronounced dead shortly after at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, police said.
Bella, Austin, Jack Murphy, 18, and Anthony Pagliuca, 16, were all hospitalized at local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries.
Bella spent four days on life support until she passed away on September 25.
While her tragic death broke hearts and shook the community, it also filled those hearts with hope and healed other families as her donated organs saved the lives of three people.
The three others teens are still hospitalized.
