Gas Station Robbery Prompts Helicopter Search For Thief: Police

A man robbed a Long Island gas station on Thursday night, Suffolk police say.

WEST BABYLON, NY — A police helicopter was searching for a man who robbed a Long Island gas station on Thursday night, Suffolk County police told Patch.

Police said detectives are investigating a robbery after a man walked into a West Babylon Sunoco gas station, displayed a gun, and demanded cash around 8:15 p.m.

After the employee complied and the man fled on foot, police launched a helicopter search over the area.
