Babylon High Schoolers Plant Organic Vegetable Garden

Students work to beautify Babylon High School's courtyard.

Babylon High School special education teacher Jaime Harrison and her students teamed up with Kohl's department store for a beautification project on April 25. Kohl's sent associates to help a dozen students plant an organic vegetable garden that Harrison hopes students and faculty can enjoy for years to come.

The beautification project is part of “Kohl’s Cares,” the retailer's environmental initiative, which sends employees out as volunteers for local environmental efforts in the community.

“We believe in giving back to the communities we serve, not just with money and resources but also with talent and time,” the Kohl’s Cares website states. “Through our community giving and volunteer program, we support kids' and education, environmental initiatives and women's health."
