'A Huge Heart Of Gold': Babylon Town Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Sis is a sweet girl who is ready for "lots of love" after a troubled past. Will you be her forever home?

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — Sis, a 6 to 8 year-old pit bull terrier, is the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter's Adoptable Pet of the Week.
This brown-eyed beauty arrived at the shelter on Oct. 13, after a complicated and unfortunate story.
She and her running mate, Bud, were found running, or "on the lam" for at least a week, the shelter said.

The pair were then sighted at a location where traps were set in the woods, but they did not come back. One week later, the two were spotted in another town where they were stopping traffic on busy roads, the shelter said.
When volunteers caught up with them, they were able to secure Sis. It took two more days to catch Bud — again, another town further away.

The shelter said that Sis and Bud will need to be adopted to separate homes, and will need to be the only dog. They have shown competition which escalates to roughness with each other, and they have had a fight at the shelter.

"Sis is a very sweet girl, who is petite in stature with a huge heart of gold," the shelter said. "She needs some reassurance that her new environment sights and sounds are all good."
She also had healed from skin issues and from being malnourished and dehydrated.
Sis just needs compassion and lots of love, and she "will return the same in leaps and bounds."
