Superintendent Daly Issues Clarification on School Staff Cuts
Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Peter R. Daly clarifies changes to the proposed 2012-2013 budget.

Superintendent Daly issued the following statement on March 30th, to clarifiy items in the recently released 2012-2013 . The school board will adopt a budget after a public hearing is held. This follows discussion of the budget revisions at a school board work session meeting on March 26th.
Patch that officials at that meeting announced no layoffs would took place, including proposed administrative, custodial and clerical layoffs. The newest proposed budget does include three of the four non-teacher cuts originally proposed, with the exception of one administrative position.
"I would like to clarify information regarding the staff reductions included in the proposed 2012-2013 school budget. Due to the restructuring of sections, three full-time teachers were scheduled to be eliminated. However, due to the retirement of four teachers, those three teachers will not be eliminated. The proposed budget still includes the reduction/excess of 1 FTE Pupil Personnel Service, reduction/excess of 1 FTE Clerical, and reduction/excess of 1 FTE Custodian," Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Peter R. Daly stated.

The next budget presentation and adoption of the budget will take place on April 16th at 7:30 p.m. A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on Monday, May 7th at 7:30 p.m. The budget vote is scheduled for May 15th.
