LI Teen's Attempted Kidnapping Claim Unfounded: Police
After a West Babylon teen claimed she escaped an attempted kidnapping, an investigation found the claims to be "unfounded," police say.
WEST BABYLON, NY — A West Babylon teen's claims that she escaped an attempted kidnapping while walking home from school on Dec. 12 are false, according to Suffolk County police.
The West Babylon High School student said she was walking on Arnold Avenue around 2:20 p.m. when an unknown male approached her, police said. Her family reported that she ran to a friend's house nearby and called the police.
On Monday, police told Patch they "determined the report was unfounded."
