MetroPCS, the cellular device company, has abruptly closed its Babylon Village location this week.
The cell phone storefront had been in business for at least a year at its location on Railroad Avenue.
There was no official reason given for the closure and a telephone number for the business was disconnected as of Wednesday afternoon.
The store was the last cell phone provider with a location in Babylon. T-Mobile operated a short lived store at the current Spalax in early 2012 and a Sprint store closed in mid-2012 at what became the new Girasole Salon location.
In possibly related news, T-Mobile purchased MetroPCS on May 1 to become T-Mobile US.
