New Grade Schoolers Moving On Up
Grade School's new third-grade class leaves behind Babylon Elementary School.
Marveling at their collective accomplishments and how much they had achieved since beginning their journey in the Babylon School District three years ago, Babylon Elementary School Principal Dana Basile congratulated this year’s second-grade students and wished them the best of luck as they moved up to third grade during the building’s graduation ceremony.
Before becoming official Babylon Memorial Grade School students, the young graduates marched into the elementary school’s gymnasium and proudly shook Ms. Basile’s hand as parents and family members cheered from their seats.
Under the direction of music teacher Colleen Angerami, the students then performed several musical selections, including two pieces that touched upon their time at Babylon Elementary and their preparedness to enter the grade school.
