The lifeguards were presented the town's Heroism Awards for conducting two rescues.

BABYLON, NY — Several Overlook Beach lifeguards were recently recognized by the Town of Babylon for rescuing swimmers in need of assistance.
In late June, a young girl was swimming in the ocean when she got caught in a small rip current. Lifeguards Tommy Corcoran Jr. and David Guerra acted quickly, rescuing the swimmer from the water and getting her back to shore without further incident, the town said on social media.
In early July, a 16-year-old boy was skim boarding outside the swimming area and suffered an injury.
