The German pastry shop received a few shout-outs:

  • Thea R. said that she "misses the apple strudel."
  • Cat B. said: "The had awesome crumb cakes, strudels and black and whites."

2. Stillmans

The old-time, family run business catered to the locals with fine food and spirits. Today it is the location of The Argyle Grill & Tavern, but still received some mentions:

  • Gil N.: "Stillmans !!! Best wings ever and their one and only signature, "The country tomato" !!!
  • Cat B. said: "The had awesome crumb cakes, strudels and black and whites."

3. Lo-Man Outdoor Store

The site of former Lo-Man Outdoor Store is a large, empty retail space in Babylon Village. (Google Maps)

The store was a long-standing staple on Deer Park Avenue for years and sold outdoor gear, clothing, and shoes.

  • According to one Yelp review, it was best described as a "hybrid" between hybrid of Steve & Barry's, Kohl's and Dick's Sporting Goods.

Also mentioned were retail chain Caldor, Don Ricardo's restaurant, Dippity Doughnuts, The Red Lion, and Joe's Drug Store.
