SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Summer is here, which means mosquitos are too and the Suffolk County Department of Public Works’ Division of Vector Control is treating parts of Long Island marshes by helicopter to control mosquito larvae.

The application runs Wednesday, June 11, through Friday June 13, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the county announced Wednesday.

Should weather conditions prevent completion of the work, it will be continued on the next suitable day, a release said.

The following marshes are listed below. Marshes that will be treated are marked “Yes.” Marshes marked “Pending” will be rechecked on Wednesday and may be added, if required.
