An SUV crashed into a utility pole on Park Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, smashing the vehicle's front-end and snapping the pole.
Suffolk County Police were on the scene at Park Avenue and Livingston Avenue, where it appeared the driver and any passengers had been evacuated.
The utility pole was snapped nearly two-thirds of the way up and was only held up by wires and the still fully lodged truck.
It was not known whether the vehicle went out of control or was hit by another vehicle.
