Teen Hospitalized, Another Arrested After Brightwaters Stabbing: Police
Police say a 17-year-old was arrested after another teen was found with multiple stab wounds in a Brightwaters parking lot Wednesday night.
BRIGHTWATERS, N.Y. — A 17-year-old was arrested after another teenager was stabbed during a fight in Brightwaters on Wednesday night, Suffolk County police said.
A 911 caller reported a stabbing during an altercation involving a group of teens in the rear parking lot on 169 Orinoco Drive at 8:55 p.m., according to police.
Officers arrived and found a 17-year-old male with multiple stab wounds, police said. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Following an investigation, a 17-year-old male suspect — whose name is being withheld because of his age — was arrested at his home, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree gang assault, according to police.

He is being held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in the Youth Part of First District Court in Central Islip, police said. Detectives ask anyone with information to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
