Almost 5 years ago, Madison Aquafredda was a third grader and Founder and President of H.E.L.P. – Help the Environment Live Peacefully when she wrote a letter addressed to the “Mayor of Copiague” (Sharon Fattoruso) about her displeasure of the litter around her town and said she would be “honored to clean the environment by picking up the trash, planting trees and planting flowers." Madison is moving to Florida but Deputy Supervisor Martinez told her that she will forever be a part of the Town of Babylon.
Surrounded by her family, she was thanked by Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilman and Beautification Chairperson Terry McSweeney, Town Clerk Gerry Compitello, Tax Receiver Jennifer Montiglio, Beautification Program Director Viscel Moore, former Beautification Director Florence Findley and Beautification Ambassador for Copiague, Sharon Fattoruso.
