Town Of Babylon Workers Ok New Union Contract With Pay Raises
The Town of Babylon has reached an agreement on the terms of a new contract with the Civil Service Employees Association, officials say.
BABYLON, NY — The Town of Babylon has reached an agreement on the terms of a new contract with one of its major bargaining units, town officials told Patch.
The town is currently nearing the end of an eight-year contract with the Civil Service Employees Association and the new contract will begin on January 1, 2025.
The new agreement will feature a nine-year contract and a two percent annual salary increase, Ryan Bonner, Town of Babylon Director of Communications, told Patch.

However, the new contract states that all union members will now pay a 15-percent health insurance contribution, Bonner added.
In addition, the new contract lowers the minimum number of employees from 118 to 100, Bonner said.

Representatives for CSEA Long Island Region One were not immediately available for comment.
