Town Urges Residents to "Live Like Ron"
One of the Town's most giving residents honored post-mortem by board.

The Babylon Town Board recently approve legislation to declare September 3, 2013 as "Live Like Ron Day" in honor of the late Ron Dieumegard, a longtime resident who was known for his volunteer work and desire to help others.
Dieumegard, a lifelong Copiague resident and graduate of Amityville Memorial High School, passed away on July 20 at the age of 75 after a five-month battle with cancer.
Dieumegard was a volunteer for over the past 20 years with several different organizations including Camp Adventure on Shelter Island, a week-long camp for children with cancer and their siblings. He also acted as an organizer for the Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged, a member of the Long Island Citizens for Community Values and a donor to the Long Island Teens Challenge.
He would also take long RV trips across the country collecting clothing to pass out along the journey.
The Town's measure encouraged others to "Live Like Ron" and "embrace the same charitable spirit and goodwill towards others that Ron himself practiced."
More information can be found on Ron at the official Live Like Ron Facebook page.
