Village Holding Two Public Hearings Next Week

Current restaurant and new business to present their cases before village board.

The Village of Babylon will hold two public hearings prior to their bi-monthly Board of Trustees meeting on Tues., May 14.

The board will hear plans for changes to the current operation of Tres Palms, the bayside restaurant on 16 East Court, by its owner, Danny O'Donnell. According to the business' Facebook page, O'Donnell is approaching the board to expand its current hours of operation and amend other restrictions currently held on the restaurant.

"We are looking to open earlier for brunch and breakfast, extend our season for outdoor dining to April 1st thru October 31st and to increase the number of outdoor tables," the April 29 post read.

The village board will also hear from village resident Ralph DelGatto, the principal owner of a new business called "Fire Island Shaved Ice, Inc.," which is looking to open a new business at 450 Fire Island Avenue.

The storefront, next to Pier 44 and Babylon Fish & Clam Restaurant, was last occupied by Trophy Fishing Tackle. The business moved to West Babylon following Hurricane Sandy in November.
