Over six months have passed since Hurricane Sandy hit the shores of Long Island with a huge storm surge, leaving much of southern Babylon Village flooded for days after.
Many homeowners hit hardest by the storm have taken to raising their homes to avoid the damage web the next one hits.
At least ten homes have been raised from their previous heights and other newly built houses have also been raised from ground-level in the village.
