W. Babylon Man Wins Nearly $37k from Lottery

A West Babylon man hit it big after scoring a prize of over $36,000 on a New York Lottery ticket earlier this month.

The New York Lottery announced on Friday that West Babylon resident John Monaco won $36,987 on a Take Five ticket he purchased earlier this month.

According to the lottery commission, Monaco purchased the ticket at Procita C&G, a stationary store at 944 Little East Neck Road in West Babylon.

The win was the first over $10,000 by a Babylon Village or West Babylon resident this year.

Last year included a run of luck throughout West Babylon with three big wins by residents or by tickets bought in the area:
