W. Babylon Students Receive National Recognition

Senior high schoolers took home first-place national honors in math competition.

West Babylon Senior High School students Wasiq Ahmad and Stephanie Milazzo recently received first-place divisional and national honors in the Mathfax Advanced Math Competition.

Under the advisement of Christina Montalvo, students in the high school’s Math Club take part in the competitions four times a year, during which they are asked to complete a 25 multiple-choice question test with no calculator.

While this is the third consecutive year that a West Babylon student has earned the title of national champion, it is the first year that two students from the district have received the honor.
