W. Babylon Woman Killed On Sunrise Highway
Dawn Bartlett struck early Wednesday morning while crossing near Hubbards Path

A West Babylon woman was killed early Wednesday morning as she was attempting to cross Sunrise Highway, police said.
Dawn Bartlett, 34, was struck by a 2005 Hyundai driven by Centereach resident Shawn Baker, 43, at around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday morning. According to police, Baker reported that he did not see Bartlett before his vehicle hit her.
Bartlett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiners office.

Baker was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was treated for rapid heart beat and rapid shock.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8140.
