The Argyle Theatre will host a special program on July 17 commemorating the career of the 1969 Mets manager.

BABYLON VILLAGE, NY — A baseball great is finally getting the ultimate career recognition when Gil Hodges joins the illustrious members of the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown later this month.
But first, the Argyle Theatre at Babylon Village is honoring the beloved Brooklyn (and Los Angeles) Dodger and New York Met with a special event on July 17.
Ed Kranepool and Art Shamsky, players from the 1969 team, managed by Hodges, will be part of the program.

"We'll be showing video of the World Series," Rubin told Patch AM.

Rubin and the co-owners will also hold a question and answer about Hodges' life and legacy.
"We'll also be holding a meet and greet where you can take a picture with them and get a signed autograph," he said.
The Argyle is charging $30 for the show and an extra $20 for the meet and greet session.
"We're accepting Yankees fans," Rubin joked.
Hodges died at age 47 during spring training as the Mets manager in 1972. His number is retired by the Mets and Dodgers.
