Former W. Babylon Repair Shop Ordered Boarded Up
An old, vacant car repair shop on Wellwood Avenue and Route 109 in West Babylon was ordered to be boarded up by the Babylon Town Board at last Tuesday's meeting.
The former Russ's Auto Sales, located at 1000 Wellwood Avenue in West Babylon, was vacated within the last year, leaving the brick-and-glass building to the elements. Large windows in the front office had been shattered or broken by projectiles and many of the sliding garage door's windows had also seen damage.
Semi-Pro Football Team Honors Injured W. Babylon Teen
A West Babylon teenager who was struck by a car last September outside of West Babylon High School was honored by a local semi-pro football team during their recent game on Saturday.
Job Giuliani, 18, was struck by a vehicle while crossing Great East Neck Road last September 19, critically injured the high school senior. He suffered a fractured skull and multiple broken bones throughout his body and fell into a coma.
Village Reaches Out to US Tennis Association for Court Restortation
Babylon Village and the U.S. Tennis Association could be working together to help restore the village's six tennis courts.
The heavily used courts, some of which are located on Park Avenue and North Carll Avenue, are used by residents, the village summer recreation program and the Babylon School District for athletic events, according to a report by The Babylon Beacon.

Police: Man Arrested for W. Babylon Shooting
Suffolk County Police have arrested a Bay Shore man for a drive-by shooting that injured one man earlier this week in West Babylon.
Police said Shameek Hutchinson, 17, of Bay Shore, was charged with Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm in the First Degree after he allegedly took part in a drive-by shooting that injured a 21-year-old West Babylon man on Monday afternoon.
