West Babylon Elementary Students Pay Tribute For Memorial Day

WEST BABYLON, NY — Elementary school students in West Babylon School District celebrated Memorial Day with numerous events on May 22 and 23.

Santapogue and Forest Avenue elementary schools both held Memorial Day tributes to recognize and honor those fallen soldiers.

On May 22, Santapogue Elementary School second graders invited family members into the school for poems and songs in tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Around the cafeteria, students showed off their poetry in honor of the soldiers.

On May 23, Forest Avenue Elementary School student council members also paid tribute to fallen soldiers with songs, poems, facts about Memorial Day and wreaths to be placed in their honor.
