Another Teen Charged In Brightwaters Stabbing That Seriously Injured 17-Year-Old: Police

Police say a 15-year-old Bay Shore teen was the latest arrested in a fight that left a 17-year-old seriously injured in Brightwaters.

BRIGHTWATERS, N.Y. — Another teenager has been charged in connection with a stabbing that seriously injured a 17-year-old boy in Brightwaters last month, Suffolk County police said.

According to Suffolk County police, detectives arrested a 15-year-old Bay Shore boy in connection with the Nov.19 stabbing on Orinoco Drive. He is charged with second-degree gang assault, police said.

Police said the teen was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned in Family Court on Dec. 29. His name is being withheld due to his age.

The arrest follows several others previously made in the case. Police said two Bay Shore teens — ages 16 and 17 — were arrested on Dec. 9 and charged with second-degree gang assault. They were arraigned on Dec. 10 in the Youth Part of First District Court in Central Islip.

A separate 15-year-old Bay Shore boy was also arrested and charged with first-degree gang assault and first-degree assault, police said. He was held overnight at a juvenile facility in Nassau County and arraigned Dec. 11 in Youth Part court.

The charges stem from a fight involving multiple youths in the rear parking lot of 169 Orinoco Drive on November 19. Police said officers responding to a 911 call at 8:55 p.m. found a 17-year-old boy with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

A 17-year-old boy was initially arrested shortly after the incident and charged with second-degree gang assault, police said.
