E-Bike Rider Hospitalized After Car Crash On Long Island: Police
An E-bike rider was critically injured in a car crash on Long Island after getting struck by a Toyota.
BAY SHORE, NY — An E-bike rider was critically injured in a motor vehicle crash on Long Island Tuesday night, according to Suffolk County police.
Weldon Palacios-Cabrera, 55, of Islip, was driving a 2010 Toyota RAV 4 southbound on Brentwood Road, turning left onto Union Boulevard, when the vehicle struck a man riding a Toofly E-bike that was traveling northbound around 11:15 p.m., police said.
The E-bike rider, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition, police said. Palacios-Cabrera was not injured, police said.
